- The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends ANNUAL cleanings and if necessary cleaning of ALL flues.
- Never shut your fireplace damper until all the embers have been fully extinguished which takes place in the final stages of wood burning producing the greatest quantities of carbon monoxide.
- Always have a fire extinguisher nearby, and be sure to know how to use it!
